22nd Makes It Happen For The Holiday

When Mary Lacey Zeiders and Sarah Settle decided to rebrand, renovate, and reopen their luxury boutique, The Holiday, they faced some challenges. But even their closing falling through was no match for their passion for this Mobile legacy business that first opened its doors in the bustling neighborhood of Spring Hill in 1955.
When other banks viewed the fledging reopening as too risky, they turned to 22nd State Bank. As Settle says, “They were very upfront with us. They said, ‘We’re going to call you every step of the way.’ And it made all the difference.”
With their signature relationship banking approach, 22nd State Bank’s Senior Vice President/Commercial Officer, Preston Reeder, sat down with Zeiders and Settle and brainstormed a path forward, structuring loans and lines of credit and ensuring the pair had enough funding to be lucrative.

Sarah and Mary Lacey were initially drawn to 22nd State Bank for the relationship that they witnessed them build within their community. They knew several of the bankers personally, and in Mary Lacey’s words, “it just seemed like a natural fit for us.” The intimacy of banking with a community bank was quite appealing, and they immediately felt they could “pick up the phone and call somebody if we needed to talk to them, as opposed to being held on hold forever” as would be the case with a larger, national bank.
Zeiders adds, “Preston and 22nd State Bank have been able to guide us through not only our projections but the execution of them. And we've been able to double our revenue, from our first year out of the gate. And that is relatively unprecedented. But the support we got also allowed us to be able to follow through, bring in more inventory, and take bigger risks in order to get bigger rewards.”
