What’s your favorite part of working at a local, community-focused bank?
We have the ability to truly put customers first—the way larger banks used to. We take the time to build real relationships with our customers and focus on their unique needs. With local decision-making, we can accommodate requests quickly and often complete transactions without the customer even having to leave their home or office. Our goal is to make banking as convenient and seamless as possible, ensuring that every customer feels valued and supported.
Given your expertise, what key piece of financial advice would you give to someone today?
One of the best financial moves you can make is taking a few minutes to sit down with your banker. Most people don’t give their bank the opportunity to truly understand their personal and business needs, but that conversation can make all the difference. We’re not here to sell you something you don’t need—we’re here to provide guidance, education, and tailored solutions that help you navigate life’s financial changes. A strong banking relationship is built on trust and expertise, and when you take the time to connect with your banker, you gain a partner who is invested in your long-term success.

In 1988, I placed first in a Junior Civitan Oratorical Speech Contest with a speech titled "Optimism: A Way of Life." That message has shaped my entire outlook—if you choose optimism, you’ll see the good in the world. If you look for positivity, you’ll find it. And if you focus on negativity, it will be all you see. That lesson has stayed with me and continues to guide how I approach life.
Outside of work, I love to fish and spend hours walking on the beach searching for shells. There’s something peaceful about being by the water, whether it’s the excitement of reeling in a catch or the simple joy of discovering a perfect shell in the sand.
